WP ex-chief Low Thia Khiang to testify for prosecution in Pritam Singh trial

Ms. Khan claimed on August 3, 2021, that she had traveled with a person to a police station three years prior and that the sufferer had come out crying because a police officer reportedly made remarks about her attire and the fact that she had been drinking. On October 4, 2021, she repeated the story. &nbsp,

In a parliament sitting on Nov 1, 2021, she&nbsp, admitted she had lied about accompanying the target to the police station. The Committee of Privileges was set up to examine Ms. Khan’s behavior, and Singh was summoned to testify before the commission over the course of three days in December 2021.

Singh’s two charges are under the Parliament ( Privileges, Immunities and Powers ) Act, and he is accused of wilfully making two false answers&nbsp, on Dec 10 and Dec 15 in 2021 during the inquiry into Ms Khan’s case.

HOW LOW THIA KHIANG IS INVOLVED

The prosecution’s opening speech revealed for the first time how Mr. Low had been informed about Ms. Khan’s alleged lying in congress during a meeting between Mr. Low, Singh, and Ms. Sylvia Lim, the WP chair, on October 11, 2021. This occurred before the rest was exposed, and before Ms. Khan’s confession was made on November 1, 2021. &nbsp,

At Mr Low’s home, he was informed that the story related by Ms Khan in congress was false, and Mr Low advised both the group leaders that Ms Khan should understand the rest in congress as soon as possible, and that she should repent, according to the prosecution’s opening statement. &nbsp,

The trial promised to bring Mr. Low’s testimony as facts, based on the advice he gave to Singh and Ms. Lim and the change they had during the conference. &nbsp,
