WP’S Backup INSURANCE, PARENTAL LEAVE PROPOSALS&nbsp,

WP said it was in partnership with Mr Wong regarding the introduction of the new SkillsFuture Jobseeker Support system and that losing a job is severely destabilize workers and their people.

The new program provides temporary financial assistance of up to S$ 6, 000 for up to six months to decrease- and middle-class workers who involuntarily lose their jobs. &nbsp,

WP cited its 2016 plan paper, which recommended the use of a redundancy insurance program.

Its proposal&nbsp aims to lower the financial strain on those who are fired, give them more time to find suitable re-employment, and lessen the impact of employment on their families ‘ well-being and health.

The opposition group claimed that it reiterated the request in the resources debate for the 2023 election manifesto and in the manifesto for the 2020 general election.

Retrenched employees may receive a pay increase of 40 % of their last drawn pay for up to six months, according to WP’s manifesto.

The payout would be capped at S$ 1, 200 per month with a minimum payout of S$ 500 a month to benefit low-wage workers. After the first one, payouts may be contingent on the employee constantly looking for a new job or going through re-training.

WP added that its redundancy insurance program was “designed with a view to get primarily funded by workers ‘ rates while they are employed, rather than by citizens.”

The group applauded Mr. Wong’s statement that kids of children will receive an additional 10 weeks of shared left. &nbsp,

When the new shared parental left program is fully implemented on April 1, 2026, parents may have a total of 30 paid vacation days. &nbsp,

Referring once to&nbsp, its 2020 statement, the WP said its proposal&nbsp, enables families to 24 days of government-paid keep. It is split between mothers and fathers as they please, with a minimum of 12 months for the mother and four for the parents.

WP claimed that Mr. Chua, Sengkang GRC MP, and Associate Professor Jamus Lim, both from Singapore, had made this claim again during the April 2022 White Paper on Singapore Women’s Development.
