Woman stabbed to death at Maxwell Food Centre; man to be charged with murder

SINGAPORE: A 41-year-old man has been arrested and will be charged with murder over the stabbing death of a 48-year-old woman at Maxwell Food Centre, the Singapore Police Force ( SPF ) said on Saturday ( Sep 7 ).

The man was detained at Bukit Merah East Neighbourhood Police Centre on September 7, 2024, at 1.36 a.m. after telling officers that that he had stabbed a woman, according to SPF in a media release.

” Upon receiving the information, authorities officials were dispatched to a food heart along Kadayanallur Street, and found the 48-year-old woman lying still.

” She was subsequently pronounced dead by paramedics at ( the ) scene. Studies in primary form revealed that both factions are well-known to one another.

The location of Maxwell Food Centre is 1 Kadayanallur Street.

On Sunday, the person may be charged with murder in court and could receive the death penalty.

Officers investigations are ongoing.
