In central Indonesia, a woman was found dead inside a snake’s belly after it had completely ingested her, according to police on Wednesday ( Jul 3 ), the second python killing in the province of , South Sulawesi, in a month.
Siriati, 36, had gone missing after she left her house on Tuesday night to buy medication for her sick baby, authorities said, prompting family to build a hunt.
Her father Adiansa, 30, found her boots and shorts on the ground about 500m from their home in Siteba community, South Sulawesi state.
” Soon after that, he spotted a snake, about 10m from the course. The serpent was still alive”, local police chief Idul, who like many Indonesians has one brand, told AFP.
Adiansa became cautious after he noticed the python’s “very big” chest, according to town director Iyang, who told AFP. He requested assistance from the locals who had located her body by cutting opened her chest.
Although these kinds of situations are uncommon, there have been instances where crocodiles have recently swallowed some people.
In another South Sulawesi area last month, a woman was discovered dead inside the stomach of a reticulated php.
An 8 m php was discovered killing and eating one of the producers in a town last year by residents of the province.
A 54- season- aged woman was found dead in 2018 inside a 7m php in Southeast Sulawesi’s Muna area.
A farmer in West Sulawesi went missing before being discovered being swallowed by a 4m php at a palm oil farm the previous year.
