Woman badly injured after train-pickup truck crash

NAKHON CUANDO THAMMARAT: A female student was seriously wounded when her car was hit with a passenger train in a unmanned railway traversing in Thung Music district on Friday evening.

The accident happened in tambon Tham Yai, said Pol Capt Jittinan Suwanchatree, an investigation officer from Thung Song law enforcement station.

Police and rescue workers arriving at the particular scene found the badly damaged Isuzu pickup truck with Nakhon Si Thammarat licence plates near the railway track.  

Pickup truck car owner Salisa Boonkua, a 24-year-of student associated with Rajamangala University associated with Technology Srivijaya, Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus, was lying unconsciously with serious mind injuries outside the automobile. She was hurried to Thung Song Hospital.

Train driver Phumphong Wiphonchai, 45, told police that the train was leaving Sungai Kolok station with regard to Surat Thani train station. When the train has been approaching Thung Music station, the pickup truck suddenly went through the particular crossing, leading to the crash, he mentioned.

Based on investigators, Ms Salisa was thrown out from the vehicle during the crash as she was not wearing the seat belt.

The student was driving from the campus and was on the way with her house, police stated.

The particular train was not broken and continued the particular trip.
