Woman arrested for attempted armed robbery at Thomson Road restaurant

SINGAPORE: A woman was arrested&nbsp, on Thursday ( Aug 29 ) for allegedly taking a knife from a restaurant table and attempting to rob a customer.

At 9.34am on Thursday, the police were alerted to a case of attempted armed robbery in a restaurant located along Thomson Road, &nbsp, the Singapore Police Force ( SPF ) said in a news release on Thursday.

Before the officers arrived, the cafe staff had intervened and the 50-year-old woman left the place empty-handed, SPF added.

Officials from Tanglin Police Division confirmed the woman’s individuality through ground investigations and the use of images from police cameras and CCTV footage, and she was detained within nine hours of the report, according to SPF.

” A weapon was seized as scenario exhibit”.

On Friday, the woman may face a charge in court for attempting to rob a gun.

If convicted, she had become jailed between two and seven times.
