Wildlife sanctuary office bombed, torched in Thailand’s Deep South

At the Hala Bala Wildlife Sanctuary in Waeng area office on Saturday night, about 20 military men took four officers prisoner, stole weapon, and bombed and torched four properties.

Attapon Charoenchansa, director-general of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, said four temple officers were captured in their living rooms while the black-clad and heavily armed adversaries, with eyes covered, bombed and torched the monastery office complex.

The confinement and loss lasted for about 50 days. Some police made it possible for them to leave the scene and travel to a local town to seek assistance.

The attackers were discovered by security staff who were riding an armored car to the scene.

A weapon government at the center’s office was discovered by authorities to be damaged and all the guns had vanished. A visitor bungalow was one of the ruined structures.

About 10 weapons were taken, according to the Crime Suppression Division, and the assault occurred at the office in tambon Loh Jut on Saturday afternoon, at around 5.45pm. State cars were also destroyed in the parking lot.

The temple office’s second attack in 30 years, according to the locals. Because the sanctuary served as a teaching facility for birds, the attack hurt the locals ‘ thoughts.
