‘Who is telling the truth?’: Prosecution grills Pritam Singh on contradictions from Low Thia Khiang’s evidence

Mr. Ang finally inquired as to whether Mr. Low’s memory was inaccurate. &nbsp,

” I would n’t say that”, replied Singh, qualifying that the meeting had been unremarkable to him. He continued, claiming that he had never forgotten any particulars of the conversation and that the group leaders should have informed Mr. Low that Ms. Khan would need to come clear. &nbsp, &nbsp,

Honing in on the discrepancy, Mr Ang therefore asked:” Who is telling the truth”?

” So you’re lying, or he’s lying,” you say. Is that what you are saying”? he asked.

Singh responded that the trial would need to arrive at its own conclusions. &nbsp,

” I will”, Mr Ang replied. Therefore, according to Singh, Mr. Low suggested that Ms. Khan should appear in parliament to understand the falsehood. &nbsp, Singh disagreed. &nbsp,

In terms of Singh’s police statement, Mr. Ang turned his attention to how Singh responded “yes” when the authorities inquired whether Mr. Low had been informed that Ms. Khan had admitted to lying to the group leaders on August 8, 2021. &nbsp,

Singh reacted in accordance with his speech in the officers speech. &nbsp,

” I believe I would have… but my marriage with Mr Low is such that we speak openly about anything… everything that he asked, I may have answered openly”, he elaborated.

However, Mr. Low claimed that the officials did not instruct him in this regard, as Mr. Ang alleged. &nbsp,

Singh refrained from responding in his declaration when he was asked whether Mr. Low or Singh was telling the truth. &nbsp,

Asked if Mr Low was lying, Singh said it was a “question of thoughts”. &nbsp,

According to his close ties with the former secretary-general, he remained firm in his assertion that he would have discussed the matter with Mr. Low.

Do you agree or disagree with Mr. Ang’s suggestion to Singh:” I will suggest to you that you previously told Mr. Low that you discovered the falsehood as early as August”?

Singh disagreed.

You knew what Mr. Low’s reaction would be, so you did n’t do that, Mr. Ang continued. &nbsp, Singh disagreed with this idea as also. &nbsp,

The trial wrapped up its cross-examination of Singh on Friday night with a number of inquiries presenting its situation to him. &nbsp,

After the meal break, Mr. Jumabhoy may begin conducting a re-examination of Singh. &nbsp,

Judge Tan asked if he would be making any defense testimony, and Mr. Jumabhoy replied that he would cross the bridge when it came to that. &nbsp,
