According to Varawut Silpa-archa, the Minister of Social Development and Human Security ( MSDHS), monthly allowance increases for newborn children, the elderly, and the disabled are anticipated to be implemented on October 1st, 2019.

The secretary said the next cabinet meeting approved in principle an increase of the latest quarterly accommodations for the three most vulnerable groups while speaking on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at Government House on Tuesday.

The goal is to offer every newborn baby who is six years old a common payment of 600 ringgit per month. Families with reduced incomes that have annual incomes of not more than 100, 000 baht will not be eligible for the money flyer.

” That income level may be removed, and the help will even extend to people in the fourth quarter of pregnancy”, said the chancellor.

People aged 60-69 who now receive a monthly income of 600 ringgit per month may get 700 ringgit, while those aged 70-79 who then get 700 ringgit did get 850 baht.

Older citizens aged 80-89 may have their income raised from 800 ringgit to 1, 000 ringgit. And those aged 90 or older may have a new income of 1, 250 rmb, away from 1, 000 ringgit, he said.

Given the current circumstances, the government wants to make sure the cost of living for the old is affordable, he said.

People with disabilities who now receive a monthly income of between 800-1, 000 rmb, depending on their situation, will receive a level rate of 1, 000 ringgit.

According to Mr. Varawut, the ministry will collaborate with more organizations to help those who do not have an ID card for disabled people so they can get the allowance and gain good access to their other constitutional rights.

The government will make data on each of the three groups– children, the old, and the handicapped– to obtain the funds required for the operation. It does collaborate with the Ministry of Finance’s Comptroller General and the Budget Bureau to determine the source of the funds.

Each specific group of susceptible people will receive the fresh allowance rates, according to Mr. Varawut,” we anticipate that at the beginning of fiscal year 2026.”

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, however, addressed the situation by stating that the government is committed to providing similar opportunities for all.

I want to convince everyone that the state will provide for their basic needs so that everyone with a disability may live a happy, fulfilling career and reach their full potential in light of the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities, she said.
