The particular Department of Thailänder Traditional and Option Medicine (DTAM) has warned vendors against getting involved in Brand new Year parties exactly where cannabis is used as part of the celebrations.
DTAM director-general Thongchai Lertwilairattanapong on Tuesday responded to public problems that some store owners may organise “cannabis parties” during New Year festivities despite the Public Wellness Ministry’s cannabis control regulations.
Dr Thongchai said whenever his division receives such issues, it immediately assigns its staff to examine such venues to see whether they comply with marijuana control regulations.
If suppliers are found to be illegally distributing cannabis with no licence, legal motion will surely follow. If people are found to become smoking cannabis flowers, they will be arrested, he or she said.
Dr Thongchai declared that vendors must request permission to sell the rose with the department below agreed conditions. Twelve offenders, so far, have been arrested by law enforcement, he said.
The DTAM needed to prove whether vendors have violated rules pertaining to the particular distribution of cannabis, including its flower, Dr Thongchai said.
When asked whether professionals are required to inspect specific parties that may be associated with cannabis flowers, Doctor Thongchai said law enforcement need to monitor additional New Year routines that increase the danger of road mishaps, particularly drinking.
But , in the years ahead, police will carry on inspecting cannabis vendors to ensure they are lawful and do not sell marijuana flowers until the marijuana law is officially issued, he stated. Staff from the section will also join police in inspecting road vendors who are spotted distributing cannabis illegally. Those violators may also be arrested for this kind of offences.
He also anxious the department worked with provincial general public health offices and police in provinces to regulate the submission of cannabis blooms among vendors.
Asked in case police could prosecute people smoking marijuana at home, Dr Thongchai said police could do so if these users caused container smoke to bother their neighbourhood, that is considered in breach of the Health Department’s announcement.
