Weddings record bid for Valentine’s Day

The state’s largest LGBTQ+ wedding ceremony will be hosted on Valentine’s Day in Feb to publicise the particular fight for marriage equal rights.

Chumapon Tangkliang, an LGBTQ+ activist and a member of the Bangkok Naruemit Pride organising panel, a coalition associated with non-governmental groups, stated the committee needs at least 100 LGBTQ+ couples from Asia and abroad to join the “Naruemitr Vivah 2023” ceremony.

The young couples will tie the knot at the Thai-Japan Bangkok Youngsters Center on Mit Maitri Road in Noise Daeng district.

“On that will day, the green field of the sports activities centre will be covered with rainbow flags which symbolise our own openness to the diversity of love, ” she said.

“We will create a new web page in history to promote identical marriage as a right for people not only within Thailand but around the world, especially those nations that do not however accept LGBTQ+ individuals, ” she said.

Deputy Bangkok governor Sanon Wangsrangboon said Thailand was still in the early stages of marketing sexual equality and encouraged people to keep more events like this in Thailand. This kind of events are also lauded for their ability to pull in visitors.

“In love, there should be no boundaries, ” he said, while also pledging to provide facilities for the group to organise and make a success of the event.

“I promise that as long as we are in office, we are going to not stop assisting LGBTQ+ issues plus marriage equality. We will keep pushing the problem, ” he mentioned.
