I’m not going to pull the trigger. inch
Cocking a revolver pistol like the 1 used on the movie arranged involves pulling the hammer of the gun back to prepare the weapon to fire. Once the hammer of the weapon is released ahead with enough force — as happens when the trigger can be pressed — this strikes the 1er of a round associated with ammunition causing the gun to fire.
The FBI forensic report was handed over to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s office as part of the ongoing investigation in to the fatal on-set capturing.
The report found the gun, a. forty five Colt (. forty five Long Colt) good quality F. lli Pietta single-action revolver, “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger” with the sludge hammer cocked at the ¼ and ½ jobs. It also found that when the weapon had been fully-cocked it “could not be made to fire without a pull from the trigger while the operating internal components had been intact and useful. ”
FBI examiners observed an internal breakdown of the gun during testing at the fully-cocked position, with the survey noting “portions from the trigger sear plus cylinder stop broken while the hammer was struck. ”
The FBI report noted the limitations of the forensics testing, stating “it may not be feasible to recreate or duplicate all of the circumstances which led to the discharge of a firearm without a pull of the trigger. ”

An attorney representing Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who offered as the armorer plus props assistant in the film, said the forensics report pointed out “Baldwin had to have drawn the trigger to fire the revolver” and that the 24-year-old had been used as a “scapegoat. ”
