More and more people from other people’s homes and acquaintances showed up after the party completed two more displays.
” A lot of people doubt what they are going to come and watch, they do n’t know what we can do, they do n’t know what it’s going to look like, they do n’t know what to expect,” Ms Wan recalled of their earlier performances.
Cirques of circus either take the form of Cirque du Soleil or only have idiots and wildlife.
Ms Wan’s present is” somewhat in the center” but it’s difficult for some to visualise, she said.
Due to all of this, it was difficult to sell tickets in order to pay for manufacturing costs, place rentals, and payments to performers.
Ms. Wan, who also teaches circus art on the side, has relied on her own money to keep things going.
All of that is reinvested into everything else, she said.
Since then, she has founded her own carnival company, Frisque SG, which boasts ; a full of 36 players- 27 jugglers and 9 musicians.
One of them, 26-year-old Ella Wee, stock Ms Wan’s passion to create a carnival group in Singapore.
” I also have my own personal desire of seeing how carnival and theatre is come up,” said the freelance actress, who does flying stunts and contortion.
Travel December, Frisque SG may do at Marina Bay Sands in a display spanning several acts like flames spinning, spinning and of course, acrobatics.
The conclusion objective for Frisque is two-fold, said Ms Wan. She hopes the team will eventually go on an international journey and also stage a regular present in Singapore.
Although her family has been patient throughout her journey, Ms. Wan frequently hears criticism from others about how she would just be able to pursue her carnival desire by traveling abroad.
” A lot of people do say the same thing: ‘ Do n’t chase it here in Singapore. No desire’. It’s a little unfortunate,” she said.
” I do n’t want to leave the country. Everything needs to grow. If everyone with talent leaves, Singapore will always be the place you do n’t go to if you want to pursue your dreams.
We want people to be able to follow their dreams. And that’s not feasible if you cannot make a career out of it,” Ms Wan added.
You can make your own decision to influence the shift. “
