In order to reveal its significance to the country, the Thai Victory Monument has been designated an historic site by the Fine Arts Department.

The Government Contact Center claimed that the statue would remain protected as a nationwide treasure as a result of the title.

The statue site is located in the Ratchathewi area of the capital’s Ratchathewi district, between three rai and 31 flat wa. It was constructed in 1941 and opened a year later in honor of the soldiers, officers, and citizens who made the Indochina War’s heroes in a dedication ceremony.

Every year on February 3, combat soldiers gather at the memorial to honor their service.

Victory Monument is even designated as kilometer 1 of Phahon Yothin Road, which travels 1, 005 kilometers from Bangkok to the Burmese border in Chiang Rai province’s Mae Sai area.

The memorial has been a gathering place for a number of social protests in the modern age, including those against the revolution in 2014 and the resulting military government and elected government led by Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha until 2023.
