On Wednesday, Democrat record MP Chuan Leekpai criticized the president’s cash-handout legislation, saying it would not be helpful to the people.

Mr. Chuan, a former top and former head of the Democrat Party, expressed his best wishes for Thai people to self-sufficiently celebrate New Year’s Day.

He claimed that if people made their own wealth through perseverance and self-improvement, it would be more responsible. He noted that this is the reason he opposes the handout plan because he thinks it may make people even more defenseless.

” If their happiness comes from freebies, it won’t survive. It will eventually lead to self-help and hunger. I hope that people will understand that we must grow and adjust to change, or we won’t be able to thrive with another,” he said.

Mr. Chuan expressed his best wishes for the new year, saying that despite life’s ups and downs, he believes that success can be attributed to patience and determination.

However, Payap Punkate, an assistant to Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, criticized Mr. Chuan on Wednesday for just urging voters in the southeastern area not to support the ruling Pheu Thai Party. &nbsp,

He accused the former Democrat president of adopting a holier-than-thou stance, saying &nbsp, Mr Chuan should clear up his own gathering second after it suffered substantial election deficits in 2019 and 2023. &nbsp,

Mr Payap defended former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, saying Thaksin’s involvement in politics is legitimate and in great faith.

He urged Mr Chuan to be more open-minded about Thaksin.
