US, Japan, Australia and Philippines to hold South China Sea exercises

MANILA: Defence causes of the US, Japan, Australia and the Philippines will carry “maritime joint action” on Apr 7 to help a free and open Indo- Pacific, the countries said on Saturday ( Apr 6), amid China’s growing confidence in the lake.

Communication and officer of the watch duties will be performed during the one-day maritime exercises in Manila’s exclusive economic zone ( EEZ ) in the South China Sea, according to Philippine Defense Ministry spokesperson Arsenio Andolong.

Two Spanish warships will be joined by the littoral combat ship USS Mobile, an American frigate called HMAS Warramunga, and a Japanese destroyer called JS Akebono, according to Andolong.

He declared that they would cross the barrier between western and northern command and travel from the south to the north.

The exercise will improve the portability of the nations ‘ armed forces beliefs, tactics, techniques and procedures, the joint declaration read.

The four countries have reiterated their determination that the South China Sea Arbitral Tribunal Award from 2016 is bound and finalized.

Days prior to a conference between the leaders of Japan, the US, and the Philippines, which may discuss current events in the South China Sea, there will be a debate of coastal matters.
