Uni’s nasal spray to hit stores this week

A nasal spray developed by researchers from Chulalongkorn University which could lessen the risk of catching Covid-19 will be available for the public to purchase starting upon Oct 1 .

The aerosol, which will be sold beneath the brand name “VAILL CITITRAP Anti-Cov Nasal Spray”, is produced by Hibiocy, a subsidiary of the cosmetics conglomerate Rojukiss International.

Developed by a group of doctors plus researchers from Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Medicine, the aerosol is truly a Thai innovation for Thai people, said Rojukiss CEO Worawarn Chaikamnerd.

The spray is designed to coat the customer’s nasal cavities using a layer of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, which provides a physical barrier in the virus. It can be used every six hrs, up to three times a day.
