Mr. Teo noted that Singapore is at the center of global transport roads. The Straits of Malacca and Singapore are home to close to 90,000 ships each month, which make up a third of global business.
Our new boats will help the Republic of Singapore Navy in our area fulfill her goal of protecting the sea’s conversation lines, according to Mr. Teo, who is also Controlling Minister for National Security.
When our lakes are safe and secure, all countries stand to gain. “
He added that the third underwater is a result of Singapore and Germany’s “longstanding and strong connection.”
Germany was one of the nations where Singapore officers were sent for underwater training in the 1970s when the first weapon boats for the Singapore navy were constructed there.
“ While today marks the start of the last in this line of Invincible-class ships, our relationship will proceed. To make these boats operational, TkMS will continue to support the RSN and ST Engineering with professional instruction and in-service support, according to Mr. Teo.
The Senior Minister added that the start of Inimitable marked a “new era” in Singapore’s underwater trip.
“To the staff of Inimitable, I encourage you to live up to your boat’s name – to be magnificent and unrivalled in the implementation of your work, ” he added.
“And to our new era of go, I exhort you to secure Singapore’s peace and security with persistence and distinction, only as your underwater explorers did before you. ”
Ahead of the meeting, Mr Teo and Mr Heng met Mr Pistorius. They expressed Singapore’s respect for Germany’s help for the Singapore Armed Forces ‘ education in Germany since 2009, and for the diplomatic engagement on the Invincible-class underwater program and training.
Both countries reaffirmed Singapore and Germany’s strong and lasting defense partnerships, which have expanded tremendously across a range of industries, according to MINDEF.
