NAKHON RATCHASIMA: Pheu Thai leader Paetongtarn Shinawatra is prepared to take office as the nation’s next prime minister, but that wo n’t happen anytime soon, according to Sorawong Thienthong, secretary-general of the party.
Now the party’s leader, Paetongtarn
The statement was made by Mr. Sorawong following a lecture that the party held in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday, during which he was questioned about whether the nation would soon be led by women.
In an election,” We are obligated to encourage all of the group’s prime ministerial candidates.” He said, referring to the 37-year-old daughter of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who took over as Pheu Thai president in October,” We are ready to guide the future government], and so is our group head.”
Mr. Sorawong responded that it is unlikely that the country will elect a female prime minister in the coming year given how also Srettha Thavisin is doing as its present premier.
In the May 14 vote, Pheu Thai put forth Ms. Paetongtarn and Mr. Srettha as its candidates for prime minister, but the latter received support from both the House and the Senate.
He claimed that” Ms. Paetongtarn is concentrating on her work within the party rather than administrative issues.” She desires to regain the group’s power.
Pheu Thai finished second in the election with 141 seats, but it eventually took the lead after the Move Forward Party ( MFP), which gained 151 seats but was unable to form a coalition. The criticism is currently led by the MFP.
Pheu Thai was extremely disappointed with the outcome of the election because it had invested a lot of money in voter mobilization in order to easily shape its state without being thwarted by the military-appointed Senate. In the end, it was compelled to include functions with military ties in its alliance in order to secure the support of the Upper House.
Improved communication between constituents and gathering MPs as well as the Pheu Thai-led state, according to Mr. Sorawong, is one of the keys to reviving the hegemonic regime.
The party may be expanding its net” Pheu Thai Family” system to enhance communications between the celebration and the general public, Ms. Paetongtarn announced at the meeting yesterday.
