UK confirms one avian flu case

Public health officials are still on alert after a person was found carrying the influenza A ( H5N1 ) in the West Midlands region of the UK.

The UK Health Security Agency ( UKHSA ) confirmed the case on Monday, according to gov. uk, a people business information website.

The UK has only had a small number of bird-to-human cases of avian flu, which is uncommon.

The person had frequent, frequent contact with a large number of afflicted animals on a farm, where they got the disease. But, the risk to the wider community remains quite small. The patient has been admitted to a High Consequence Infectious Disease ( HCID ) unit and is currently in good health.

The animals had the DI in them. One of the influenza strains known to be circulating among animals in the UK this year is the 2 gene. According to the web, this is different from the strains that are currently affecting American mammals and birds.

Public health lasting director, Dr Opas Karnkawinpong, on Wednesday said the risk of the virus spreading to Thailand remains lower.

People are advised to just take well-cooked meat while strict measures are being put in place to stop avian flu infections. Additionally, they ought to steer clear of animal direct contact.

Any sudden, unexpected mass fatalities of chickens must be reported to the nearest animal business quickly, Dr Opas added.
