Typhoon Yagi leaves more than 60 dead, dozens missing in Vietnam

HANOI: &nbsp, Storms have inundated Vietnam’s northwest, including the money Hanoi, as the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi&nbsp, continues to remove a dangerous burden.

The disaster management agency reported on Tuesday ( Sep 10 ) in its most recent update on the situation that at least 65 people have died and 39 others are missing in the north.

Most of the subjects were killed in floods and flash storms, the organization said in a statement, adding that 752 individuals have been injured.

After making ashore on Saturday and carrying winds in excess of 149kmh, Yagi, the most powerful storms to hit north Vietnam in 30 years, tore roofs off houses, and damaged businesses.

The north of Vietnam, which is thickly populated and a key manufacturing hub for global tech companies like Samsung and Foxconn, is currently experiencing severe flooding, with several towns now at risk of being partially submerged.

In Hanoi, areas along the bruised and fast-moving Red River, which flows through the money, were even half submerged, with people forced to evacuate in boats.

On Tuesday, 460 people were forced to travel to the Hoan Kiem District.
