
In a bomb blast in the Thanto city of Yala state, southern Thailand, on Monday, two police officers were killed and one was really hurt.
The incident occurred at 9.30am native time, according to Thanto District Police Chief Colonel Pariwat Khuanmanit, and preliminary investigations indicated an untimely occurrence of a handmade weapon that was thought to have been placed in a nearby car exploded just as a police car came to the rescue.
He told reporters during a visit to the field on Monday that the blast caused all three soldiers, who were traveling in a four-wheel drive vehicle, to suffer serious injury.
The wounded soldiers were taken to Thanto Hospital for treatment.
” But two of them were found dead upon arrival at the hospital,” they said. He continued to treat the second officer, saying,” The second officer is also receiving care.”
Pariwat continued,” The investigation is ongoing to find the perpetrators of the harm.”
No armed party has so far claimed responsibility for the occurrence. – Bernama
