Negotiators from Thailand and China examine plans for a new wall at Chiang Mai Zoo.
According to everlasting director Jatuporn Buruspat, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment anticipates signing a deal to exchange two panda from China next month.
The agency’s efforts, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have been making steady progress, he said on Saturday in an upgrade on the development of conversations with Chinese officials.
More discussions would ensure that the panda ‘ needs were met while providing appropriate habitats and exhibition places, he said.
The government plans to construct a new life place at the Chiang Mai Zoo for the penguins, larger than the previous 6, 250-square-metre air-conditioned wall. It will have high-quality amenities to meet Foreign requirements for animal welfare.
According to Mr. Jatuporn, building information will be reviewed before being submitted to the Chinese government. By 2027, the two panda were scheduled to be arriving at the park.
” We did an excellent job caring for Xuang Xuang and Lin Hui, who properly produced sons, Lin Bing”, he said.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Thai-Chinese relations, the two new penguins may act as kindness ambassadors.
Xuang Xuang and Lin Hui were given a product from China in 2003 to live in Chiang Mai Zoo.
The couple produced a female kid, Lin Bing, in 2009 and attracted over 7 million park visitors.
Xuang Xuang died in 2019 at the age of 19, and Lin Hui died in 2023 at 21, both at the Chiang Mai Zoo.
Lin Bing was returned to the Giant Panda Research and Conservation Centre in Chengdu, China, in 2013 as part of a joint arrangement. She is currently rumored to be the family of seven.
