Two men arrested for housebreaking with over S$100,000 in cash and valuables stolen

SINGAPORE: Two men have been arrested for their suspected involvement in housebreaking and theft, which saw them allegedly steal more than S$100,000 (US$74,400) in cash and valuables.

The police said on Monday (Jul 29) that it was alerted to the incident at a residential unit along Club Street at 4.40am on Sunday.

About S$50,000 in cash was purportedly stolen, along with two luxury watches and five luxury bags worth about S$67,300 in total, and an assortment of jewellery.

Preliminary investigations showed that the two men, aged 31 aged 32, entered the affected unit by climbing over an air-con ledge. They wore caps and masks to conceal their appearances.

Through ground enquiries and images from police cameras and CCTV, officers established their identities and arrested them later that day. About S$41,400 in cash, two luxury watches and the five luxury bags were recovered.
