SAMUI: Two international citizens have been arrested for creating a public nuisance after riding great bikes around with very audible exhaust pipes and giving middle finger to local people.

People living along the path leading to Choeng Mon beach on the northeast part of Koh Samui originally filed a complaint to Bophut police place against the two travellers whose titles were withheld.

The people accused them of disturbing the peace and possibly posing dangers to public health. The complaint said the two men had ridden great bikes with pretty loud exhaust valves at high velocity and plied the path about a few times every day.

However, authorities told them the problem needed to be backed by evidence of blatant crimes. The people finally managed to video-record the travellers in motion and found one of the users give end finger at them.

After receiving the video picture via the authorities station’s Facebook page, Bophut police chief Pol Col Denduang Thingsrisook ordered his colleagues to set up a police station and were able to assault the two travellers at an crossing near Chaweng Beach on Saturday night.

Both reportedly used the motorcycles with unauthorised modifications. The vehicles were  rented from a shop in Phuket. Local residents praised Bophut police for their swift action after  getting the video clip.
