A banner fell during a storm in India’s economic capital of Mumbai, killing 12 people and injuring at least 60 others, according to authorities on Monday ( May 13 ).
After the signs at a gas place in the town’s east fell, an archaeologist was digging through the wreckage, causing dozens of people to fall behind.
Eight bodies had already been removed from the wreckage, Gaurav Chauhan, an inspector with the National Disaster Response Force ( NDRF), said.
Four more systems are also buried inside the dust, he added.
Because of this gas pump, he said,” We have located them, but we ca n’t remove them because this situation can be hazardous.”
According to a statement from the provincial government, 60 people had already been saved and taken to the hospital sooner.
