Tune Talk app may have been compromised, users receiving ‘bitcoin investment’ notifications

PETALING JAYA: Tune Talk said it’s aware that its app’s notification system may have been compromised, as users on Twitter have reported receiving push alerts offering “bitcoin investment”.

“We are aware that the latest app notification may have been compromised. Our team is currently investigating the root cause and we will update our subscribers as soon as possible,” said Nantha Arumugam, chief operation officer of Tune Talk.

The notifications prompt users to send bitcoin to an ewallet, with the promise that their investments will be doubled.

Users expressed their concerns on Twitter, questioning if the app had been hacked or if Tune Talk had experienced a cybersecurity breach.

Some users have also warned others not to click on the link as it could be a cryptocurrency scam.
