Trio arrested with 450kg of crystal meth

After a significant pull of Bangkok-bound drugs were discovered following a car chase in Nong Khai, three vehicles were seize.

Following a vehicle chase in Nong Khai state on Thursday, three drug couriers were detained and 450 kilograms of crystal meth were seized.

The three guys, who are only identified as Prasobsuk, 23, Thongthawat, 28, and Chalanthorn, 20, from Khon Kaen, were apprehended soon after their vehicles passed a police station in the northern province’s Tha Bo area.

According to Border Patrol Police Region 2 chief Pol Maj Gen Kittisak Plathong, 450 kg of crystal meth worth more than 450 million ringgit and three vehicles were taken from them.

Pol Maj Gen Kittisak said during a press briefing on Thursday that intelligence getting officers had been closely monitoring the actions of the three suspects and their partners for about a year and had learned that they frequently rented cars from several rental shops to slip drugs.

In the future, researchers discovered that the crew intended to bring significant amounts of crystal meth from Bueng Kan to Bangkok via Nong Khai and Khon Kaen. On the trafficking route, officers were dispatched to maintain watch.

Three suspected vehicles were spotted by border police officers in Tha Bo region near the station. The owners sped off as the soldiers pursued the cars after they signaled them to quit.

The three lorries were then searched for. Three people escaped while three more were detained.

The three suspects reportedly admitted to having been hired to bring the medication for 300,000 baht during questioning. According to Pol Maj Gen Kittisak, they were also given some bliss tablets with a Labubu figure printed on them for personal use.
