A person in eastern China conned several hotels by using condoms and placing dead cockroaches in rooms when his money ran away, and instead of joining, he spent his college tuition on journey.
He employed this scheme to blackmail 63 resorts, seeking free accommodation and payment, which eventually led to his imprisonment and sparked public outrage online.
The 21-year-old gentleman from Taizhou, Zhejiang province, who is only known by his title, Jiang, made the false move in September last year by choosing to travel with his tuition money from his hometown of Taizhou.
Whether the school’s overall expenditure was made or whether the parents provided the money, it is still unclear.
Yet, when his income dwindled, Jiang resorted to a” creative” system to extract compensation from hotels.
He meticulously prepared a collection of “props” in advance – including dying cockroaches, cicadas, strands of hair, and used condoms – to create unsanitary conditions and collect payment from various establishments.
Jiang usually checked into three or four different resorts during a 10-month period, according to the report. He would abuse minor flaws or herb insects, bugs, and locks to intimidate hotels with complaints or online contact, demanding free stays or payment”, explained an unknown police officer from Linhai in Zhejiang.
