TRAT: On Sunday morning, heavy downpours slammed into the Sukhumvit Highway between Khao Saming and Muang area in this eastern Thai province, warning locals of potential flooding as waters from a nearby reservoir may be discharged immediately.
Around 5am on Sunday, the run-off took place along a 20-kilometer bend of the Sukhumvit Highway between Khao Saming and Muang towns. On Saturday, it rained in the Khao Saming city of Khao Saming for two days, measuring 245 millimeters of rain.
In Muang Trat Municipality, numerous roads were likewise flooded.
At 11am, Thamrongsak Nakrawong, the water captain for Trat, reported that the Si Siad reservoir’s water level was 3.70 meters. That exceeded the 3.40-meter mark to verify the reservoir’s power.
Therefore, water leaders had to rapidly pump the reservoir’s water to stop it from bursting. Native people should make themselves for probable flooding, he said, and the transfer may have an impact on societies in Khao Saming and Muang regions.
