Transport Ministry wants Roi Et Airport upgrade

The Transportation Ministry had instructed the DoA to update Roi Et Airport, which is receiving more visitors each year.

After leading a tour of the airports in the northern province on Monday, assistant transport secretary Manaporn Charoensri gave the order to go ahead with the update.

To check whether airport security measures and equipment adhered to International Civil Aviation Organization ( ICAO ) standards, the airport had to be examined. She furthermore looked at the airline’s standards of service and the company’s development program.

The ministry had mandated that the DoA develop a strategy plan to improve airport services, including the installation of dual-view X-ray luggage scanners, automatic LED weapons and explosives detectors, and Electrical Distribution System ( EDS ) detectors with a conveyor belt.

Additionally, Ms. Manaporn advised the DoA to boost the runway’s size from 2 100 meters to 2 500 meters in order to accommodate growing passenger traffic.

According to her, the office is purchasing the hardware needed to finish the projected 2030 expansion.

The growth will provide better services to help airports people who come from local regions like as Maha Sarakham, Kalasin, Yasothorn, and Mukdahan. The number of individuals has risen to at least 300, 000 per month, according to the secretary.

Additionally, Ms. Manaporn mentioned that Roi Et Airport may offer a customs certification services for visitors on international charter flights.

DoA Secretary-General Danai Ruangson claims that Roi Et Airport businesses are expanding now that some of the development plans have been completed. Located on 2, 685 ray, the aircraft handles around 600 passengers per hour at top times, doubling its previous power.

Last month, 342, 970 people on 2, 114 battles passed through the airport. The range is increasing, he said.
