The Department of Medical Services ( DMS ) issued a warning on Wednesday to the public about spreading” Toy Pods,” the newest generation of e-cigarettes that are currently popular with teenagers.
According to Dr Sakarn Bunnag, DMS assistant director- common, this is the second generation of e- smoke. It is more collectable and attractive than common e-cigarettes, according to its creators.
” The second generation of toys pods look like normal hazardous materials, which makes it difficult for families to recognise]the risk]. They may look like cheese boxes, soda cans, favorite cartoon characters or even art playthings. People are misled by the lovely cases because they believe these toy pods are safe, he said.
In addition, toys seeds come in a variety of fragrance and taste which make them even more attractive to the younger generation, Dr Sakarn noted.
Toy seeds have a high amount of nicotine and other contaminants found in smoking that can hurt a person’s health, despite their attractive appearance.
Dr Piamlap Saengsayan, DMS ‘ Advisory Medical Doctor on Internal Medicine, said electronic- tobacco use an atomiser to change an e- smoke water into air.
Toxins, including smoking, are found in the water even though they do not produce any fumes from fire like a regular cigarette. The water also contains other harmful ingredients such as arsenic, formaldehyde, copper, chromium and glucose, said Dr Piamlap.
Nicotine has been labelled as a venom, and those who consume it may encounter exhaustion, palpitations, hypertension, and heart vehicle compression.
According to Dr. Piamlap, smoking may increase a person’s risk of developing lung cancer and Type II diabetes.
Also, users who are intoxicated by the other substances in the water, apart from smoking, may experience respiratory and pulmonary diseases, ranging from exhaustion to strokes.
E- smoking can even affect people psychologically, as the substances make smokers feeling depressed and anxious, said Dr Piamlap.
The DMS is concerned about the growing use of the seeds among the general public, especially adolescents, due to the negative effects they can have on women’s wellness despite their beautiful appearance, said Dr Piamlap.
