Tour guides press for govt assistance

The complaint to be presented to the PM

A smart cabinet meeting in Songkhla on Tuesday will bring together a tour guide relationship and Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to discuss their concerns. They want the government to stop using illegal trip services and encourage rail travel in the South.

The Songkhla Tour Guide Association’s leader, Wittaya Saelim, has written to the government to demand that it take action to stop Thai manuals and tour operators from hiring international tour agents and guides.

The letter from the association was received on Friday for distribution to the wireless cabinet meeting by Deputy Public Health Minister Dech-it Khaothong of the Democrat Party.

The organization also proposes, in the email, that the state allows private vehicles to deliver customer services, related to ride-hailing services like Grab and Maxim, to create earnings for locals.

The organization, according to Mr. Wittaya, also calls on the government to amend its policy regarding renewing tour guide licenses. Now, renewing a licensing requires new education, which costs more than 50, 000 ringgit and takes several months. This is a problem for native tour guides, he said.

The plan also urges the government to address the issues with foreigners acting as massage therapist or using traditional Thai messages because the position is only available to Thai people.

The organization also suggests that the government promote train travel and improve Thai rail companies. This will entice more Indonesian visitors to explore the Songkhla border town of Padang Besar in the Sadao area.

At the cellular case meeting, Ms. Paetongtarn will also receive additional petitions about a number of pressing issues. Apparently, some parties have chosen to travel to Phatthalung, where the top is scheduled to visit on Monday before the mobile government meet, because the queue for petition submissions is so long.

However, Chotinrin Ketsom, Songkhla governor, said the state is ready to network the mobile cabinet meet at the International Convention Centre in Prince of Songkla University.

The government said this will be an important opportunity to enhance Songkhla’s economy and infrastructure.

” We may have a chance to show case members our culture and tourism. According to Mr. Chotinrin,” This will undoubtedly help stimulate economic growth and green development.”
