Timeline: Killing of 2-year-old girl that went undiscovered for years, her remains left in a pot

SINGAPORE: Until her brother opened a pot under the kitchen stove, the murder of two-year-old Umaisyah went unreported for more than five centuries. & nbsp,

Her scorched remains were discovered in the container.

Her father admitted guilt to killing her and was given a 21-and-a-half year prison sentence and 18 strokes of the cane on Tuesday( Sept 19 ).

He also acknowledged engaging in violence, mistreating his son, and using a particular drug.

Here is a timeline of what happened based on judge records.

Umaisyah, who was only three to four months old, was placed in foster care in November 2011 after it was determined that her family was unable to care for her and her father was being held in a drug rehab facility.

Jun 18, 2012: The pair tied the knot. They had four kids, Umaisyah included. The family was the mother of a son and daughter from her past union.

2013: The person began mistreating his son. He would slap and punch the child as he struck him with a buckle, rack, or hand.

Umaisyah was returned to her parents’ attention and guardianship on June 1st, 2013. She frequently sobbed and felt uncomfortable around her kids because she didn’t know them.

The woman received visits from Umaisyah’s foster mom in July and August 2013. She observed that Umaisyah had lost fat, grown more reclusive, and was becoming less talkative.

In an effort to hide their tracks, the pair put her body in a metal pot and set it on fire. The bowl was then put inside a cardboard carton and sealed with cling film and masking tape.

They misled people about her whereabouts, telling some that she had gone back to her foster parents and others that her husband’s granddaughter in Melaka was looking after her.

The guy was admitted to a drug rehab facility on October 25, 2016, for glass usage. After being admitted in January 2011, this is his subsequent stay at a drug rehab facility.

Midway through 2017, Umaisyah’s uncle & nbsp attempted to throw the box away because the cling wrap contained cockroach eggs.

May 11, 2018: A endorsement of arrest was issued against the man after he failed to appear for a notice in State Courts.
