According to the police, two men, ages 30 and 58, were detained on Thursday ( Mar 20 ) for their alleged involvement in the unauthorized registration of prepaid SIM cards.  ,
Seven more people and a woman between the ages of 27 and 50 are even providing investigation assistance.
During the procedure, a number of cellular phones, wireless registration documents, and SIM tickets were seized.  ,
On March 5, the assaults took place at two locations in Serangoon, Icares Mobile Services, and ARS Digital World and Univercell Mobiles Technology, as well as one in Woodlands.  ,
According to the police, the operation intended accidental mobile phone stores and their staff who were suspected of being involved in the unauthorized register of prepaid SIM cards.  ,
According to preliminary investigations, these individuals reportedly used customer data to pre-register for extra prepaid SIM cards.
The 10 people are facing charges for illegally obtaining private information, illegal modification of computer software, and facilitating the falsification of SIM card registrations to facilitate criminal activity.  ,
The offenses are either punishable by a fine of up to S$ 10,000 ( US$$ 7,500 ), three-year jail or both.
