Three Chinese abduction suspects give differing statements

The three Chinese men arrested with Suvarnabhumi airport on Thursday over the claimed abduction of a Chinese businessman all denied the charges, yet police said they gave differing claims.

This individual Junhui, 37, Jinyong Zheng, 36, plus Heng Yaofeng, 35, are accused of colluding in robbing a 31-year-old Chinese language businessman in the Rama IX area on Wednesday afternoon.

They were arrested at Suvarnabhumi airport while wanting to board a Qatar Airways flight to Qatar about 1am on Thursday.

Metropolitan Law enforcement Bureau commissioner Pol Lt Gen Samran Nualma and Pol Maj Gen Pornchai Khachornklin, chief of  Metropolitan Police Divison 4, were on Friday briefed on progress in the case.  

Following the meeting, Pol Luxury touring Gen Samran mentioned the three suspects refused robbing the victim, but admitted these were involved in the incident.

According to police investigators, two of the suspects arrived in Asia in May and the third on July eleven. They rented the car used to abduct the victim. Afterwards, these people abandoned the vehicle plus planned to board a flight plus leave the country. Instead, they were caught.

During asking, the suspects offered differing statements, the town police chief mentioned. Two said the victim had due them money as well as the other claimed the particular businessman duped them into an investment plus failed to deliver the particular returns as guaranteed. They had to ask for their particular money.

The victim, that has not been named, told police he knew one of the suspects because the man had  borrowed money from him. He stated he did not must pay back the suspects any kind of money  from  on the internet gambling as they stated.

Pol Lt Gen Samran said the suspects grabbed the sufferer in the car park of a residential building and took him to their car and drove to Wat Lad Pla Duk within Nonthaburi,. There, they allegedly demanded he transfer to them ten million baht in digital currency.  

During the abduction, the sufferer had dropped his mobile phone, so can could not transfer the money to them. The suspects then took the victim’s brand-name wristwatch, worth about twenty million baht, Pol Lt Gen Samran said.

He said the particular victim was a wealthy businessman. He arrived in Thailand three months ago, bringing his expectant wife to give birth at a hospital here, the city police chief said.

Police would take the three suspects towards the Criminal Court on Saturday to apply to detain them for any further 12 days while the investigation carried on, he said. They could face charges of colluding in forcibly abducting another person, illegal detention for ransom, robbery and associated offences.
