 ,” LIGHTNING FAST” ATTEMPT TO OVERTURN CONSTITUTIONAL COURT DECISION
The protestors are opposed to parliament’s attempt to pass a bill that the House of Representatives Legislation Body ( Baleg ) approved and aims to overturn the Constitutional Court’s decision on Tuesday.
In the November elections, the prosecutor had removed the eligibility requirements for social events, or coalitions of events, to nominate individuals for regional leaders. The regional elections would not be held to be held in accordance with the 20 percent level for parliamentary seats in the local council, or 25 % of the popular vote.  ,
A celebration or a partnership of events may nominate a candidate for local mind even if they do not hold votes in the regional parliament or DPRD.
The choice opened the door for Mr Anies, who lost to Mr Prabowo in February’s presidential election, to become a Jakarta presidential candidate again. He was chancellor of the money from 2017 to 2022.  ,
Events that had previously supported him weeks before, such as those that have joined Mr. Prabowo’s Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), have since abandoned Mr. Anies.
The alliance of 12 parties, now known as KIM Plus, is supporting past West Java governor and former Golkar Party cadre Ridwan Kamil as the party’s candidate for Jakarta’s governor. The governor of Jakarta is regarded as a possible stepping stone to the administration because of its high demand for it.
The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle ( PDI-P), the other party that is not affiliated with KIM Plus, had a chance of backing Mr. Anies for the gubernatorial race, according to the Constitutional Court’s decision. Prior to the decision, the PDI-P had to determine whether to independently nominate a presidential candidate had met the 20-per-cent threshold for parliamentary seats.
In contrast to the Supreme Court’s earlier ruling that the time requirement may only apply to the time of the inauguration, the constitutional court also ruled on Tuesday that presidential candidates must be at least 30 years old at the time of registration to manage for elections.  ,
