A military official reported that at least 13 people have died as a result of an American naval speedboat’s failure to manage and hit a passenger ferry off Mumbai’s coast.
More than 100 people have been rescued, according to Maharashtra position chief secretary Devendra Fadnavis, and three military officers are among the dead.
The boat circled before colliding with the ferry, which afterwards capsized, according to video that was posted online.
The Indian army said there had been an “engine damage”.
The discreetly owned boat was making its way to the Elephanta Caves, a popular tourist destination, when it was hit by the boat.
A Navy art going through engine testing collided with a passenger ferry, the military said in a speech, noting that it regrets the” tragic loss” of life.
A passenger on the ship stated to ABP Majha news agency that the boat hit our ship and that water started pouring into it after it overturned. The pilot asked us to use lifejackets”.
” I swam for 15 minutes before I was rescued by another boat”, said the rider, who did not identify himself.
