The document by Puck Information cited their manager Victor Lopez as the cause of a schism between Desus and Mero, which ultimately led to the show finishing.
A source close to the co-hosts showed CNN that their romantic relationship with Lopez contributed to the two hosts parting ways.
Mero did not touch on that, but did credit Lopez with assisting his professional rise, which went through popular Twitter comments to writing songs reviews to this individual and Desus doing the “Bodega Boys” podcasting, hosting their display on Viceland and ultimately the Showtime series.
Mero talked in order to “Basic” cohosts Doug Herzog and Jen Chaney about the really like fans had for the show, which held an unique place of diversity in late night TV with him becoming Dominican and Desus being Jamaican.
He distributed stories of audiences expressing how much the particular pair has designed to them, but reiterated they were ready to move ahead as individuals.
