On Monday, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was imprisoned, showed up to Department of Probation officers at Bangkok Probation Office 1 in Bangkok Noi area.
He was supposed to report to the company on Tuesday  , as he would have been on probation for one month that morning.
According to reports, police officials placed Bangkok Probation Office 1 under strong protection during the time of Thaksin’s visit, which did not take long. At the time, different people and driving were prohibited at the office.
During his first four weeks on probation, Thaksin is required to submit a monthly statement to the Probation Department. After that time, he may be allowed to review once every two months. Within the given time range, it is possible to change the investigating time for each month.
Justice Minister Pol Col Tawee Sodsong said the Corrections Act does no stop someone on pardon from meeting with other people, despite the political pressure that came after Thaksin met with government representatives and members in Chiang Mai next year.
If any of the Department of Probation’s ten circumstances prevent such action, he even suggested that Thaksin and Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin could go on field trips together in the future.
