Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra said on Sunday that he was willing to recommend his daughter , Paetongtarn who, as Thailand’s new prime minister, had face strong tasks– but whose humility he believed had secure support from everyone.
On Sunday, as Thaksin publicly received royal assent for her prime minister position, he expressed his assistance for his youngest child, the nation’s youngest prime minister.
She is aware that she will soon be tired, must devoted herself, and had collaborate with all parties. Now she stands in front of me and I am in the back”, Thaksin, 75, said of his 37-year-old child.
He claimed that because she was “old,” he did not give her any political support, but that Ms. Paetongtarn may call him to get his advice on any issues. I am 75 times old today”.
Thaksin claimed he would not be involved in the new cabinet’s establishment. The problem was the duty of the primary minister, he said.
Thaksin added that he was pleased with his daughter’s adolescent years.
” She is fresh. She can go to all organizations to ask for their assistance and cooperation. She is no pretentious. She is humble”, Thaksin said.
Ms. Paetongtarn said she would consult with Thaksin as long as it was advisable and would n’t cause any legal issues.
She said,” This great career cannot be accomplished by one man. Therefore, I may seek advice from all experienced people to ensure that the appointment of prime minister has a significant impact on the national interest and that as many policies as possible are implemented,”
Ms. Paetongtarn added that she would do everything in her power to prevent prosecution like her father and aunt ( Yingluck Shinawatra ) did.
The newly appointed excellent minister did not give a timetable for the formation of her government to reporters on Sunday.
After 15 times of self-immigrating, Thaksin returned to Thailand last August, claiming he could not get a good demo on several charges he claimed were politically motivated. He jumped bail and fled the country in 2008.
Thaksin was given an eight-year prison sentence on the day he returned to Bangkok, which was later reduced to a time under a prior aristocratic pardon for conflicts of interest and abuse of authority during the period 2001-2006.
He always spent a night in jail, but he instead spent six months at Police General Hospital. Based on his time, health, and the fact that he had already served half of his word, he was eligible for probation in February.
On Sept 27, 2017, the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions sentenced Yingluck to five years in jail for failing to stop fraudulent and corruption-plagued government-to-government income of corn from her administration’s rice-pledging system. The jury pronounced judgement in Yingluck’s presence. The statement was postponed from Aug 25, 2017, after she failed to appear. A , warrant was immediately issued , for her imprisonment.
Before the judge rendered its decision, Yingluck reportedly reportedly fled the country to join with Thaksin in Dubai.
