Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister, has stated that he will pay respect to his predecessors in Chiang Mai every year, particularly during Songkran.
Following his pardon, Thaksin was on the next time of his visit to Chiang Mai yesterday. He made his initial trip to the state after self-immigrating 17 years ago. He came back to the area in August.
The 74-year-old had been given permission to visit Chiang Mai to give respect to his grandparents after receiving the natural light from the Probation Department.
According to his old age and health issues, he was given probation. His first halt was the Muang Chiang Mai district’s Tambon Suthep’s Khru Ba Sri Vichai statue, which he visited yesterday. He traveled with his sons, Pheu Thai chief Paetongtarn and her older sister Pinthongta.
Major officials, including deputy national authorities key Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn and Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment Chatuporn Burutphat, and local leaders, including Provincial Governor Nirat Wongsitthithavorn, joined Thaksin at this halt.
Thaksin and his family finally travel to the Doi Suthep Stupa, where he reportedly began experiencing severe back pain. He was helped by his caregiver and Ms. Paetongtarn.
They finally arrived at Waroros Market, a common market, where they stopped at the newspaper of Arunsri Puangraksa, 83. Thaksin said he used to always get Mr Arunsri’s papers before he entered politics.
He therefore promised to stay in the province while Songkran was still in effect.
He added that he would pay respect to the bones of his parents in Chiang Mai each month.
” We love Thaksin. We love Thaksin”, thousands of people chanted shortly after they arrived. Before departing for Wat Rong Tham Samakkee in San Kamphaeng district, he arrived at his parents ‘ residence at the Huai Mae On Reservoir in Mae On area.
Monday evening, Thaksin met Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, who is visiting the county until tomorrow, for breakfast as per an offer by previous PM Somchai Wongsawat.
” I am a former prime minister. I have to support the current one”, Thaksin said. ” If]Mr Srettha] asks for my tips… I did give him my mind”.
Sonthiya Sawasdee, a former legal matters assistant to the House committee, announced that he would send a list of top civil servants who met Thaksin during the visit to the National Anti-Corruption Commission next year. He argued that meeting a former prisoner like Thaksin was unacceptable.
Past Democrat MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thepthai Senphong, claimed that despite being a paroleee and a prisoner, Thaksin received more special care.
Thailand is one nation in the world where government officials is allowed a prisoner as if he were subjected to a government inspection, Mr. Thepthai continued.
