Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the president of Pheu Thai, claimed on Wednesday that her parents Thaksin was acting foolishly when he told group MPs on Tuesday that he was willing to work as her assistant if asked, a claim that could put the pary in danger of dissolution.
Ms. Paetongtarn claimed that Thaksin made the off-the-cuff comment at a Tuesday event for younger MPs at the party office.
Thaksin had made a surprise visit, and was just joking when he said he would be her associate, Ms Paetongtarn said.
When asked if she would formally nominate Thaksin as her associate, the Pheu Thai president replied that she would not because Thaksin had many other things he wanted to do.
But, she naturally sought his counsel in the perspective of being members of the same family, she said.
Ms. Paetongtarn stated that Thaksin was ready to share his encounter with any serious celebration, including Pheu Thai MPs.
During Tuesday’s program, Thaksin told fresh Pheu Thai MPs that they performed well during the current budget bill conversation. He advised them to continue developing themselves and that if he was accessible, he would be willing to serve as an adviser to the group leader and offer guidance.
Prior to this, the Election Commission had warned that Pheu Thai might collapse if Thaksin’s rule was established.
No social group is permitted to help or do any activity that would cause the group and its people to remain centered, either directly or indirectly, in accordance with Section 28 of the Organic Act on Political Parties.
Thepthai Senpong, a former Democrat MP, claimed on Twitter that Thaksin wanted to strengthen Pheu Thai’s young people so they could compete with their political foes in the Move Forward Party.
He brought up the fact that Thaksin had previously visited Nakhon Ratchasima state and had invited Chart Pattana Party chair Suwat Liptapanlop to assist Pheu Thai.
He claimed that Thaksin’s comment demonstrated that he was essentially Pheu Thai’s head. Afterwards, Thaksin claimed to be speaking on behalf of Ms. Paetongtarn because he did not want to be identified as having violated the Organic Act, according to Mr. Thepthai.
