After serving his sentence in prison the following month, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra can work in any place other than a social one.

He responded to a question posed by reporters on Tuesday regarding whether Thaksin, who will be set to be detained for the rest of his sentence, can help the state after he is released from prison.

” If the government asks for Thaksin’s support, he may perform so”, said Mr Wissanu. Thaksin you hold any position in the government, aside from those that are contrary to the law, such as being a secretary. He may assume different roles”.

A special agent in a particular role, which must only be temporary, and a prime minister’s adviser are two of them. But, Thaksin may get appointed as a business consultant.

According to Mr. Wissanu, Thaksin may support the efforts of his youngest daughter, Paetongtarn, in the leadership of the Pheu Thai Party. He may also be a celebration official. Running the party is like running a personal organization, but he, as a member, can not be regarded as dominating the group. What he intends to do is up for debate if he does no join.

Asked about Thaksin’s lese majeste charge, he said:” It does n’t matter ]if he wants to get involved in the party ] because other members and some executives of the party also have their legal cases”.

Regarding Thaksin’s possible future president’s role, he said Thaksin never became prime minister or work for vote again under the current law. ” If a new law is drafted, it could be another account”, he added.

After 15 times of self-imposed captivity, Thaksin returned to the state on August 22 of last year. He was taken to the Supreme Court that evening, where he received a three-year jail sentence. By royal mercy, that statement was afterwards reduced to a year.

Doctors at the Department of Corrections ( DOC ) decided that because of alleged serious illnesses, he should be transferred to the Police General Hospital on his first night at Bangkok Remand Prison. After spending six months in the hospital, Thaksin was paroled and discharged in February.

On August 22, Thaksin will finish his sentence and be granted an unconditional ignorance document.

Pheu Thai Party chief Paetongtarn Shinawatra said her father, who is already under the guidance of the Department of Probation, has expertise, knowledge, and perspective that can help the party and the government.
