‘ Tight rules’ to regulate legalisation, ex-PM says
Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the de facto leader of the decision Pheu Thai Party, reaffirmed on Saturday that bidding will be the only way to grant casino licenses to fresh pleasure structures.
He added that he anticipated the government’s plan to pass a bill into law this year, with a major committee developing regulations and finalizing details before the scheme begins next year.
In a meeting of his followers in the northern county of Nakhon Phanom, Thaksin was canvassing for votes for a Pheu Thai candidate for the provincial administration organization chairman election on February 1.
The truth is that any interested parties can enter the license through empty buying.
” They]bidders ] will have to consider what they have to offer in terms of tourism advantages and tax revenue for the state, “he said.
The former prime minister also refuted rumors that some coalition parties oppose Pheu Thai’s leisure complex program and refrained from calling for a vote on the legalization of casinos.
” No. No needed,” Thaksin said when asked about the election advice which has been made by Jurin Laksanawisit, a record MP and previous leader of the opposition Democrats.
The government may proceed with this task if the majority of the electorates approve it, Jurin said, adding that if no, the state would have better stop.
Thaksin also addressed worries about whether criminals might use the complexes to dirty money or solve other social issues.
” Maybe, it’s the parties drafting the entertainment complex costs who are to blame for failing to provide a distinct enough description,” said Thaksin.
Although the games will only account for 10 % of one entertainment complex, the majority of the rules deal with their legalization and rules, which might have given the impression that the bill and the entertainment complex structure are all about casinos, Thaksin claimed.
He claimed that the type of leisure complex being constructed in Thailand is comparable to Las Vegas’s plans for a sports stadium, convention center, water park, and ice-skating area.
The game will take up less than 10 % of the room in the leisure complex, which will have a lot of other things to offer visitors, he said, like in Singapore.
Thailand’s leisure complex project will make around 20, 000 work in each page and each employee is guaranteed to earn at least 20, 000 ringgit a quarter, said Thaksin.
Due to the previous government’s large accumulated debts, accounting for up to 60 % of gross domestic product, the present government has to try to improve the economy and generate more income, and this was one way to accomplish it, he said.
It must improve the lives of Thai citizens. All too often, people find all that’s left when they put their hands in their hands are slave cards,” Thaksin said.
The bill, which has been approved in principle by the government, may be following transmitted to the House of Representatives for consideration, which is expected to take about six months, said state spokesman Jirayu Houngsub.
He also emphasized the potential benefits of entertainment complexes as international visitors ‘ magnets.
Before Covid-19, Thailand had more than 40 million tourists visiting per year.
The number of arrivals is projected to return to between 37 and 38 million this year, up from around 36 million last year, he said.
