Am makes suggestions about potential Israel conflict escalation
In light of a potential intensification of the conflict in the Middle East with the Palestinian militant organization Hamas, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is urging Thai staff in Israel to returning home.
Following a meeting on the continuous issue, Mr. Srettha stated that about 8,500 Vietnamese workers had registered to return home, and that more than 3,000 have so far done so.
Despite the government’s ability to return up to 800 Thais per day, some Jewish employers’ decision to postpone salary payments to November 10 has led to some Thai people changing their minds. In an effort to keep Thai laborers employed, some companies have also raised salaries.
According to Mr. Srettha,” It is interesting that[ employers ] are paying on November 10. ” Typically, we have until October 31 to give our pay.”
It’s quite intriguing because someone might occur before November 10 ,” he continued. ” We do not understand the cause of this.”
This is not a great mark, he said after giving it some thought. ” I would like to thoroughly consider whether it would be worthwhile for all Thai staff in Israel to remain longer.”
The delicate nature of the situation, according to Mr. Srettha, led him to call the Jewish ambassador to seek a resolution.
Income must not be a problem. It’s not really correct, so I need to visit the ambassador and request cooperation, he said. ” Thai laborers should receive many better treatment than this.”
He continued,” I want to warn our brothers and sisters there to please come back home as the conflict may intensify.” I also want to ask the local people to convince them to come back.
Mr. Srettha stated that the Labour Ministry and the Agriculture and Cooperatives Ministry will offer employment opportunities for laborers, who are regarded as experienced producers, in terms of employment problems after returning to Thailand.
Mr. Srettha stated that the government is making every effort to secure the release of the 19 Thais who are being held captive by the radical party in the Gaza Strip.
He claimed that during the most recent Asean-GCC Summit, he spoke with the leadership of Oman, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia and requested their assistance.
Although the officials acknowledged that Thais had no part in this fight, he claimed that Thailand is one of the countries suffering a great number of casualties.
There are now about 30,000 Thai staff in Israel. Thirty Thais have perished since the invasion on October 7 in Hamas, along with 19 captured and 18 injured.
” The destiny of the Thai victims are still unknown to us. But, Mr. Srettha stated that we are employing all available strategies, including sending high-level authorities there. I won’t, yet, give any details about where or who they will match.
When questioned about unauthorized Thai workers who reported to go back out of fear of being arrested, Mr. Srettha responded that there would be no issues if they did so.
He said,” I’d like to ask their people to convince them to come back home, and I want to kindly request that they do so.” ” The Thai authorities will do its best to take care of them, and they can also find work here in our country.”
In the meantime, Jakkapong Sangmanee, the deputy foreign minister, stated that multi-sector cooperation is necessary in order to identify dying Thai citizens who perished in the attack on Israel.
This is due to the fact that many of the systems need DNA tests or other complex techniques because of their state, he claimed.
” The remaining systems will be sent to Thailand right away once they have been verified by Israeli government.”
