Thais to join halal event in Malaysia

Thais will join a large number of people at the 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas) 2022 this week, an event that a Malaysian trade envoy to Thailand states is the largest of its type.

Malaysia’s Ministry of International Trade and Industry is arranging the four-day occasion that begins tomorrow in Kuala Lumpur, said Hafiz Shariff, the trade office at the Malaysian charge.

Mister Shariff said Mihas is the world’s biggest halal exhibition which includes business matching periods where attendees have the opportunity to meet potential customers plus business partners.

Thai business partners will also sign up for the event, he mentioned.

Mihas is a robust market for both global and local gamers to seize opportunities beyond halal foods including halal pharmaceutical drugs, medical devices, financial, modest fashion, individual care and makeup, green technologies and even Muslim-friendly tourism, he or she said.

A special emphasis this season will be placed on innovation and sustainable initiatives to spearhead stable growth for the halal economy, Mr Shariff said.

Organisers are also contemplating this year’s Mihas as a “hybrid” occasion through the use of Mihas’ digital platform.

Following its beginning in 2004, organisers say Mihas offers helped local plus foreign businesses flourish in the halal industry while contributing significantly to the global halal economy.

Mihas attracted a few 30, 000 investors and visitors within 2019, resulting in a complete immediate and discussed trade value of more than RM1. 6 billion dollars (about 13 billion dollars baht).

Mihas is not limited to the Asean region but is also backed internationally by countries through trade commission rates to various government companies as well as industry gamers and market frontrunners in the private industry.
