Thais in Osaka advised to wear masks during measles scare

Following the discovery of cases of measles in the Chinese capital, Thai visitors and residents of Osaka are advised to use faces when traveling or using public transportation, according to the Thai embassy in Osaka on Monday.

The overall number of cases of the extremely contagious disease in Japan, including those found in Tokyo, has increased to eight, with the Osaka Prefecture reporting two cases of influenza.

Japan eradicated the disorder in 2015 but it has just re- emerged.

According to the embassy, one of the circumstances in Osaka was discovered on March 1 when a person arrived on Feb. 24 from Abu Dhabi on Etihad trip EY830 and created signs.

Osaka is a popular location for Thai visitors. One of the largest populations of Thai people reside in Japan is there.
