Thailand tries to rescue 162 nationals trapped in Myanmar fighting

According to Thai officials, the government is attempting to return 162 of its citizens who have been trapped in Myanmar due to a rise in clashes between dictatorship troops and ethnic minority insurgents close to the Chinese border.

At least 30 Thais, the majority of whom were farm workers, were killed during the Oct. 7 frenzy by the Hamas extremists in southern Israel, prompting the efforts to save them from the chaos in neighboring Myanmar. The Arab insurgents took 17 Thai victims, including 16 Thais who were wounded.

An ally of racial minority forces fighting for self-determination launched a number of coordinated attacks on dictatorship positions last week in Shan State in northern Myanmar.

The ruling government of Myanmar claims to have lost power of a number of towns along its borders with China, including Chinshwehaw, which borders the Yunnan province of China.

The Thais and other immigrants were” stuck” as a result of the battle, according to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, who has instructed the embassy in Myanmar to work with officials to get the Thai people to safety.

In a late Thursday post, the embassy stated that it is currently discussing ways to assist all Thais in returning home immediately.

A defense takeover in February 2021 overthrew a democratically elected government headed by Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, and since then, Myanmar has been in disarray.

In some places, recently formed pro-democracy rebel groups have joined forces with ethnic minority guerrillas that have been calling for more autonomy for decades.

According to Myanmar advertising sources, the most recent struggling in Shan State has forced thousands of refugees into China and internally displaced hundreds more.

In Shan and Rakhine states, a” three fellowship alliance” of cultural minority forces declared that it was attempting to protect its citizens and soil from coup problems.
