According to Foreign Affairs Minister Parnpree Bahiddha- Nukara, the state is prepared to construct homes along the border to house migrants in the event that fighting in Myanmar intensifies.

The chancellor confirmed the readiness by stating on Sunday that the state was keeping an eye on the situation in Myanmar and urging all parties involved to end hostilities and begin negotiations as soon as possible.

An influx of refugees under the current circumstances is doubtful. However, going forward, if violence worsens, migrants may flee in all directions, not just to Thailand, according to the foreign secretary.

There were no reports of a surrogate warfare in Myanmar, Mr. Parnpree said.

Many entrepreneurs and cargo trucks were stranded in the border town of Myawadee on Saturday as a result of fighting between cultural forces and Burmese government forces. The Mae Sot city of Tak province, which borders Myanmar, was about 10 kilometers from the battleground.

The current situation in Myanmar, according to Lt Gen Prasarn Saengsirirak, chief of the 3rd Army, has yet to have any effect on Thailand, but if migrants cross the border, they will be given humanitarian assistance.

He claimed that Thai territory was being guarded by soldiers, and the ruling Myanmar junta was working to stop the country from being invaded.
